Created in 1991, Secours Islamique France (SIF) is an international non-governmental relief and development organization (NGO). SIF acts in strict neutrality, without distinction of origin, gender or religion, and is dedicated to alleviating the suffering of the world's most deprived populations.
Under the direct supervision of the Head of Mission, the Deputy Head of Mission is responsible for the overall coordination and strategic oversight of SIF’s programmatic activities in Syria.
Your main responsibilities will be the following (evolving and non exhaustive list) :
Contribute to the development and operationalisation of the Mission’s strategy, ensuring alignment with SIF’s global priorities and contextual needs ;
Ensure the effective and compliant implementation of SIF’s programmatic portfolio and provide oversight to guarantee coherence, quality, and impact across all interventions ;
Oversee administrative, HR, and financial aspects related to program implementation, ensuring full compliance with SIF policies and donor requirements;
Monitor contextual developments and ensure that logistical and security considerations are fully integrated into program design and implementation ;
Supervise and support program teams, ensuring a positive working environment and leading capacity-building efforts to strengthen staff competencies.
Degree Required : Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in development studies, humanitarian program management, business administration, or any related field;
Minimum Experience : At least 7 years of relevant humanitarian experience, including senior leadership roles (Field Coordinator, Deputy Country Director, Chief of Party);
Strong program management expertise, including proposal writing, reporting, budgeting, monitoring and evaluation, and donor compliance;
Proven capacity to lead, supervise, and develop teams, with a participatory and supportive management approach;
Excellent communication and representation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with external partners, donors, authorities, and coordination platforms;
High resilience and ability to work under pressure in complex and demanding environments, with strict adherence to security and organizational protocols.
Starting date : As soon as possible ;
French fixed term contract : 6 months (renewable after 6 months) ;
Remuneration according to our salary grid ;
Monthly perdiem/guesthouse ;
Health insurance (SIF contributes to 60% of the insurance) ;
Rapatriation insurance (100% covered by SIF) ;
Break allowance during the 3 and 9 month breaks ;
Airfare to and from the mission location to home – paid by SIF at 6 and 12 months.
